Quick Count Time Series

I have provided consulting services as a member of the Quick Count Committee for the National Electoral Institute (INE), contributing to multiple electoral processes.

The following graphic depicts a time series of interval estimations from the Quick Count for the 2018 Presidential Election:

By 7:30 PM on election day, the results clearly indicated the winner and the next President of Mexico. More details about the 2018 Quick Count are available on the official INE website.

Until 2020, I served as a permanent adviser for the Scientific and Technological Advisory Forum, where I provided strategic guidance on issues related to science, technology, and innovation policies in Mexico. My role included analyzing databases from organizations such as CONACyT, INEGI, and ANUIES to monitor various aspects of the country's scientific and technological development. Additionally, I designed and analyzed electronic surveys, primarily targeting members of the National System of Researchers, to gather insights into key trends and challenges within the scientific community.

GERD and GBARD Time Series

The graphic illustrates a time series of the Gross Domestic Expenditure on R&D (GERD) and the total Government Budget Allocations for R&D (GBARD), both expressed as percentages of GDP. The series spans from the presidential term of Luis Echeverría in the 1970s to the early years of Enrique Peña Nieto's administration.

It is important to note that during Peña Nieto's administration, the methodology for calculating R&D expenditure was revised to include postgraduate study expenditures. As a result, the data from the latter years of the time series should be interpreted with caution.

Currently, the Outreach Office at IIMAS plays an active role in fostering collaborations with various institutions and industries. Through its institutional framework, projects have been successfully carried out with entities such as the Coordination for Gender Equality at UNAM, the Mexican Stock Exchange (Bolsa Mexicana de Valores), and the Bank of Mexico, among others.

I have been fortunate to participate in several of these projects, contributing my expertise in statistical modeling, data analysis, and methodological development to address diverse challenges and promote impactful solutions.
